First off, what's wrong with your current watch? When evaluating a replacement, it is best to first understand WHY you you no longer consider your current watch adequate.

If that's your main criteria, then yes, the SM Chronograph definitely will suit you better than the Submariner. Just make sure you are comfortable that the difference is worth what it will cost you to exchange watches.

One big plus is that the resale value of your Sub should be enough to buy a SM Chrono. You may want to consider offering a trade. Try the TimeZone Sales Corner at http://timezone.com and see if anyone who got the SM Chrono and found they didn't like the much bigger and heavier watch would like to swap for your Sub (with any appropriate cash transfers to make up for the value differences between the two watches).
