omegas or amigos...

I am a big fan of Omega watches. I can't think of any other brand of Swiss- made watches that, generally speaking, appeal to me more. And it's not just the Seamaster and Speedmasters either, I very much like the Constellation and Deville lines as well.

Last year I purchased a Constellation (white dial, full bar, 18kt gold and s/s bracelet) which I use as a dress watch and recently I bought a Seamaster 120 silver dial and s/s bracelet). Although both have (oh no!) quartz movements, I think they're great watches for both durability and style. And you don't have to take out a second mortgage on your house to buy one!!

But what I am really excited about is my next purchase which I have on lay-away. It's a Deville (prestige) in 18kt gold with a brown leather strap. And yes, this time I got a mechanical movement! I believe the movement is the Omega 1120 which is a tweaked version of the Eterna 2892(?).

Although a very conservative looking watch (some may even say uninspiring), I feel it will give me years of pleasure without ever looking "dated".

However, out of them all, I think my all-time favourite will always be the Seamaster. I like everything about that watch - especially the bracelet!

So, as I see it, although the proper name is Omega, I think of them as my amigos! :)

I sincerely hope that you are all enjoying your Omega watches as much as I am mine.

Regards,

Mike
