You are quite correct in you assessment of the scratches being more or less visible depending on the light condition. I was looking at the watch with direct east sunlight this morning and observed the scratches. Later in the day, they were far less noticeable!

I will also return the watch as you suggest for a service prior to my warranty expiration. A buff on the AUTHORIZED polishing wheel will do wonders I am sure. This is a great idea.

And last but not least, you are correct... OMEGA RULES!
