I believe essentially the same princliples are involved. Mainly that the watch is normally worn on the wrist that receives less of the shock.
Sure, the repeated shocks may cause the watch to be off by an additional second or so after a golf game or extended round of target practice. But that is all that I know of as a likely consequence.
