What's up with Omega Service Center?!?

I have wasted nearly an hour talking with Omega Service, and I am still not satisfied with what I am being told.

Here's the story; like many here, I have placed an order for the blue ridged rubber strap #97988082021 and clasp (ST1506832117). I was told that both were in stock and will ship Tuesday. Well, at the same time, my cousin, DaveW, placed the same order and was told that the strap was on backorder and will not be shipped for three weeks! Confused, I called them back and discovered that my original order was entered for #979'9'8082021 which is the smooth strap (w/o clasp). So I instructed them to change the order for the #9798- and the fun began! The guy was convinced that the part did NOT exist! I even gave him the Ti SM number 2991.80 and he could not find that either! After being put on hold for 10 minutes, he came back to tell me that the reason he could not find these numbers was because they are in the international catalog, and he was looking at the domestic catalog. So, according to him the strap is a special order item direct from Switzerland, and could take 4 to 8 weeks to receive! Worse, he could not confirm its part number.

Obviously frustrated, I put the order on hold until I can get things straightend out. If anyone can shed some light on what to do, I am listening! I plan on calling them back and hopefully talk to a different representative. In the meantime, I will keep you all posted.

thanks for reading!
