Interesting that that one comes with a deployant clasp instead of the more elaborate (and less expensive) diving clasp used on the other Seamaster Professional rubber straps.

I have no info on that either. But I actually suspect that is unlikely because this style lacks the diver's extension in the clasp!

That the 2000 model year SMP's will have a blue rubber strap is confirmed -- one of the new models shown on Omega's official site does has the new style BLUE rubber strap.
