Both are extremely nice watches. IMO the best! The SMP is an absolutely stunning watch, modern yet classy, very well built and the craftsmanship shows. By handling the 2 you would think the SMP is more expensive - bigger and heavier. The SD is also well built but with the exception of the movement nothing hardly has changed. The bracelet's design is old and not worthy of a watch with a $3750+ price tag. I guess this is one reason why the re-sale value remains high because little is changed throughout the years.
This is only the second day I have owned my SMP and I can't stop staring at it. For half the price of my SD and if I had to pick only one watch to keep and not to sell, it would be the SMP. Just my opinion...
