Re: Leather strap for PO
In Response To: Leather strap for PO ()

: Hello,
: I have a 42mm black PO on a bracelet, I would
: like a leather strap as well. However, I
: can't decide if I should buy the brown OEM
: Omega leather strap and folding clasp, or,
: since it is not exactly cheap, it would be
: better to look elsewhere.
: In other words, is the Omega strap/clasp
: combination worth the asking price? Would
: owners of this strap buy it again?
: Thanks for the comments,
: Willy

One thing to consider is what type of strap you really wnat for the watch. The Omega factory strap is premium alligator, which is why it costs around $200. If you can live generic leather (calfskin), you can get an aftermarket strap for a small fraction of that price. You can also buy premium aftermarket alligator, sharkskin, etc. for less than the Omega factory strap. Additionally, the Omega factory deployant buckle costs around $200 as well. If you can live with a standard tang buckle, you'll save even more money. Unless you can get a discount from an AD, you'll end up paying around $400 for the factory strap/deployant combo.

It really depends on how much you want the factory parts and how much you are willing to spend.

Good luck with your decision,
John
