Re: What's an extra year warranty from retailer wo

As far as the actual COST of throwing in that extra year of warranty, it could be literally $0.00 as far as the AD is concerned if they do this by simply giving you the Red Omega warranty card WITHOUT the date written on the card. (Think about it for a minute!) As a matter of fact, my AD in DC deliberately didn't fill in the date on the card, (I know, because I called up and asked) and I think a lot of people here know who I'm talking about. From what I can tell there is no system in place where the dealer has to report back in when he sold a particular watch (and that's probably part of how all those Omegas wind up in gray market dealer's hands, apart from the ones on the gray market that are used, stolen, and/or broken (:<) ), so it could be that this dealer that is offering you an extra year of warranty may not be offering you exactly what you think he's offering you.

And along those lines, does anyone know of a way that ANY person or AD can buy an extra year's worth of warranty on an Omega?? I'm not aware of one, but then again I'm not a WIS, I'm just a plain old IS.
