Re: 2531.80 vs. 2220.80
In Response To: 2531.80 vs. 2220.80 ()

: I'm considering getting one of these two
: watches but not sure if the 2220.80 is worth
: the extra money.

: These are the things I like about the 2220.80:
: -Co-axial (but is it worth it?)
: -Hand placed hour markers
: -Longer hands
: -I just like the overall look of this watch

: Things I don't like about the 2220.80: -Cost
: (I'm sure it's more expensive than the
: 2531.80)
: -Anti reflective coating on the outside of the
: crystal (I'm afraid this will wear off or
: scratch)

: I always liked the 2531.80 but I think the
: watch would look a bit better with longer
: hands. I'm sure both watches will provide
: years of service.

: Can anyone comment on the actual cost
: difference between these watches and the
: robustness of the exterior anti reflective
: coating on the 2220.80?

: Thanks for your comments!

You know, I really believe it's a metter of cost in my book. I like to see value for my money and at $900 more, I don't see that the new 2220.80 is $900 more watch. While the longer hands and the applied markers are nice improvements, the only way I would consider this watch over the 2531.80 is if the co-axial movement were longer lasting and needed servicing less. I know that's the sell but I think school is still out on this benefit until more data can be collected over the years.

In the end, it'a a matter of where ones priorities in a watch are. Enjoy your choice as both are great watches.
