Have you ever seen a watch based on the PloProf ?

Hi Guys,

Did you know that there was a (non-Omega) watch made that was very close to a PloProf ?

I first heard of this model a couple of years ago on a Divewatch forum that I used to regularly visit.

If I remember correctly, even though the watch is marked as SWISS MADE, the firm Squale was an Italian manufacturer ( Squale means Shark in Italian ).

Notice the hand colours, the red pusher ( you can't really miss that one can you ! ) & the crown guards.

The watch looks different enough that it can't possibly be called a copy or replica, but I think it has enough PloProf features to see where it's rootes are.

This example sold recently on eBay for just over $400.

Can anyone think of a reason ( apart from design ) why the lower hour markers are smaller than the upper ones ?

S.
