Speedmaster / PloProf
In Response To: Any Watch Compliments??? ()

Hi guys,

I work in the IT industry ( Yes, I AM Dilbert ! ) ,for various customers , either directly in their offices or from home. Whilst at the customers, I get to see a range of watches, Some Rolex, Some Tags, occasionally a Breitling, almost no Omegas.

I'm most likely to get a comment, when I wear my Speedmaster Pro. Usually people recognise it & ask if it is the moon watch.

A couple of weeks ago whilst at an almost empty restaurant with my wife & some friends , I noticed the guy on the next table, regularly looking across at our table. As we finished & prepared to leave he came across to us & asked me about my Speedy Pro.
He was looking into buying one. He asked if he could try it on & we talked ( to my wife's dismay ) for about 10 mins. In the end he said he would prefer it if the watch was a bit smaller. So I helpfully suggested he checked out a "reduced" model, which is also Automatic. He said he'd do that. I then added that it is noticebly cheaper too.

As we walked through the car park, the only other car there was a Porsche 911 Carrera 4..... I don't think price comes into the equation for this guy.

The only other watch of mine that has generated any comments is my PloProf. Usually the comments aren't particulalrly postive. more on the lines of "WHAT is THAT ?" or "Why are you wearing a dive weight belt on your wrist" etc etc. You can't believe how many people just stare at your wrist, when you have a PloProf on.

I guess most people out there just aren't normal, like we are ;-)
