I kind of had the feeling

That I was mistaking caliber with PIC codes, but I didn't know the proper name for the PIC codes, so that was part of the problem. I did know there was a system to Omega's numbering, but the only part I know is the Titanium subsection for obvious reasons.

So, the eBay item probably was legit, and it was an Omega 2398. That model is no longer in the Omega watchfinder system, but the catalog proves it used to be there. Thanks all for the help, so that I can get on with my life and worry about some other trivial facts.
