In Response To: Real? ()

This watch is ( with the exception of the movement ) 100% fake

Easy tell tale signs...

  • Stubbies on the dial

  • No "frame" around the date window

  • An enourmous number of Miltary fakes have exactly this serial number on the case back.

A watch with exactly these military markings was recently sold in the Antiquorum sale => Lot 128

Anytime you see these markings you can be pretty sure you are looking at a fake.

I posted a little bit more info => In this post.

Please note the Antiquorum watch doesn't have a date & has different markings on the inside of the caseback ...... So when looking for a "real" SM300 you have to consider various details. Not all fakes are the same.

If you are looking for a miltary Seamaster 300 write down the numbers W 10/6645-99-923-7697, A/254/67 & avoid any watch bearing them !

So, has Antiquorum also raised the price of fakes ? The Antiquorum fake reached about $33,000 ( including buyers premium). This eBay watch fetched $1,600. IMHO a fake is worth about $100 at MOST.
