Everyone has different tastes, but most prefer the black dial with white markers because it is the most classic color combo. Black is the standard., and it probably is the most popular color regardless of watch style. It will always be that way. It's kind of like cars...... Why don't we see a lot of bright pink cars (no pun intended)?

For some people, the silver on silver is a little hard to read since there is little contrast between the hands and dial. It all comes to personal taste.
