Introducing Me & my Speedmaster Day-Date

Hello everybody,

I'm Clemens, watch enthusiast and SysAdmin, and after lurking for a few weeks I now finally decided to post here.

First of all I want to thank all contributors for making ths forum enjoyable to read. I think I've learned quite a bit by just browsing here.

Second, I want to introduce my first Omega: a Speedmaster Day-Date, Ref. 3220.50.

Sorry for the quality, I will take better photos with better lighting soon.

Since I haven't read a lot about this watch, I want to share my experiences with it so far.

I purchased this watch about two months ago, and from the beginning it was set to run +3/day. I tried several overnight positions but never managed to get it below +5/day because wearing it seemed to speed it up even more.
Then, one day, it started making +6 in just 4 hours. Having read about magnetism here, I thought this might have happened to my Speedy as well.
So I went to my AD where I purchased it and told him about my speculation. But he wasn't too sure, put it on a device measurung the "heartbeat" of the movement and said it just needed to be regulated.
He did a great job, because after regualtion it only runs about +1.5/day which gets almost completely cancelled out to +/-0 by laying it on the 9 o'clock position overnight. As I'm writing this, it's only three seconds fast, and the last reset was over a week ago.
So I think the 3606 movement is a very accurate movement if well regulated.

The only thing I noticed is that the Start-Stop pusher of the chronograph function sometimes is a little hard to push, only with some resistance and the clicking sound is louder than when stopping it. Resetting the chronograph, however, gives a similar sound/resistance, so I guess that's considered normal.

What else can I say about it - I just love it. I fell in love with it when I saw it on the website and I fell in love with it again when I held it in my hands at my AD.
I just had the bracelet replaced by a Hirsch leather strap (black with white stitching), but only because I prefer leather over steel.

Thanks for reading, and I'm pretty sure that I'll post again soon with some questions/pics from a vintage Omega I inherited from my grandfather.

Greetings from Vienna/Ausrtia,
Clemens
