I've Come Over to the Dark Side Posted By: Scott Date: 6/13/07 23:17 GMT Observation: When it comes to classic chronographs... Just like Ford and Ferrari in the 1960's and Ferrari and Porsche in the early 1970's they were always running in the same circles.
I've been involved with Heuer dash timers for a few years now, and have had some great pieces pass through my hands. But it took me a while to care about wrist watches. I have a few, mostly gifts from clients. Expensive, nice, but not me. Too flashy. One was some sort of bizarre NBA draft giveaway, which was truly embarrassing. A little bling goes a long way in ruining my interest in such a watch.
But after glancing over here once in a while, and getting some pushes from some of the more broad-minded Heuer guys, I decided that it was time to jump in and get a Speedy. Nothing wrong with that. After all, how can one appreciate brand X when they have no experience with Brand Y?
So I bought a 64 105.012, ca. 321. I've been wearing it for about the past month, and I have to tell you, I really love this watch. Just want to let you know that you have another Omega Speedmaster convert. And thanks for the info on the forum, without which I might have ended up with an Autavia (a friendly dig to the Heuer side).
