Re: How long would you keep a watch from servicing

Hey all
SQ...just a question about your comment regarding 0 second variance in 6 months on your SMP chrono- do you mean that it has not lost a single second in 6 months? That would be amazing if true...and if so...have you ever had it regulated or did it do that fresh "out of the box"?? I have the 2254.50, and a work buddy has the same one in titanium, and we both lose between 2 and 3 seconds (consistently) a day. He was pretty disgusted until I told him about COSC specs etc etc, and that therefore these consistent losses are still percieved as being within good accuracy ranges. Would be interested to know...thanks.

: e.csn, It's recommended that you take your
: watch in every 3-5 years for a full
: cleaning. But frankly, I usually only take
: it in if it's running slow or has some
: dramatic damage to it. I've had my
: Bond-esque SMP Titanium Chronograph for
: almost 15 years now and it's seen a number
: of visits to the doctor (did some swimming
: with the crown unlocked so she almost drown)
: and had a few other things from my
: not-so-careful with watches lifestyle.

: At the moment it's been away from the doctor
: for the last 4 year and it is running at
: perfect time (0 second variance for the last
: 6 months at least). Hopefully I keep it away
: for longer as it always takes a number of
: months to get back into sync again.

: But ya, regular cleanings are necessary
: (esspecially if she is acting finicky) as it
: can cause more damage if you let it wait.
: It's like not changing the oil in your car.
