You're absolutely right. Unless you see the two watches side by side, it's difficult to see how dramatically darker the white GMT model is.

Another thing to consider is that you'd be putting a GMT bezel on a watch that has no GMT hand. This would seem a bit out of place, since you'd be giving up the standard diver's bezel for one with GMT markings.

If you still REALLY want that look of the GMT bezel, your best bet might be to buy a new aftermarket bezel insert like the one on ebay at the link below. Omega will not sell you just the insert, as they force you to buy an entire bezel for about $150. A watchmaker can install a new insert in a matter of minutes.
