: thanks everybody for the help. The
: "New" used Seamaster is running
: about 9 seconds slow by comparing it to the
: atomic clock. I'll try putting it in
: different positons at night to see if it
: makes up time. But after that I don't think
: its worth worrying about. since it was used
: I first thought something was REALLY wrong
: with it...but I think not.what do you think?
: Maybe get it regulated when it goes for
: servicing but I'm not gonna worry about it.
: I'm just enjoying the watch!!
: Do many of you guys own more than one? I might
: have the itch for the co-axial model in the
: future!

If the watch is still under warranty, Omega will regulate it for free since the watch is a certified chronometer. They will regulate it to within the COSC specs of -4 to +6 seconds per day. Even though you bought the watch used, any remaining warranty is yours (provided the watch was originally bought from an authorized dealer and you have the stamped and dated warranty card).

If it is not under warranty, a competent local watchmaker should be able to regulate it for you for about $25 (at least that's what my local watchmaker charges). If it will be a while before the watch is due for servicing, and if you can't get it to run any better than -9 seconds per day, it may be worth the cost of a regulation. Hopefully the right overnight position will help you attain better accuracy.

Good luck,
John
