Re: De Ville Power Reserve 4532.40.00

: Hi, I am new in here. I am looking for an Omega
: watch on Ebay and it is De Ville Power
: Reserve 4532.40.00 but I cannot find it on
: Omega website. May anyone tell me the year
: of the watch(from which year?)and where can
: I find more detail about it?

The 4532 was introduced in late 1999/early 2000 as I recall. It is apparently discontinued, as the Omega website shows two of the three faces on the "brickworks" bracelet "sold out". The 4532.40, the gray face, is shown as sold out. However, Omega does not know what their dealers have . . . .

Check the Omega website at www.omega.ch

Select Gents Collection, then Watchfinder and enter your PIC 4532 on the right side. You will be guided to a watch datasheet.

Omega serial numbers are very difficult to date since about 1995. Many ranges of discontiguous serial numbers are used simultaneously.

Guessing, based on my own experience, the watch you are seeking to buy is going to be several years old, and may even have been chronometer tested as long ago as 2000. The power reserve movsment is not used in any other model and did not sell well. (An AD near me still has one in the case from 4 years ago, and it had been there a while when I first saw it.)

Good luck.

By the way, the seven year old co-axial I bought keeps perfect time and shows no signs of needing service.

Sam
