It sounds like the date changing mechanism locks and thus causes the entire power train to stop. Since this is happening at every date change It is unlikely that you have a tooth on the date wheel or the date driving wheel that is worn. If this was the case the watch would not stop every date change, rather this would happen when a worn tooth was engaged (of course if all the teeth were worn this could happen...). There could be several explanations but I would look first at the date jumper and/or the date jumper spring. If the date jumper is worn at the point of contact with the teeth on the date wheel this could cause the date switch to lock every time.
