Thx for the clarification, my second watch (Deep Blue) has arrived and I need to restore the exterior. Still deciding on do-it-inhouse or restore at Bienne. Do you know guy's/shops that do fine material treatments. For instance where did your Dark Mault (nice!!) change color?

br Jean

btw Steve I'm assuming your 95th birthday is still far ahead ...?
:
: I don't believe ANY cases came polished.

: I think MOST came with a "brushed"
: finish that radiates from the dial outwards
: ( lets call this "sunburst" )

: HOWEVER ... I believe the MK III speedmasters
: came with the above mentioned
: "sunburst" finish & ALSO came
: in a Pilotline case that was
: "almost" smooth, where the
: machining marks run around the dial as shown
: here ( lets call this one "Radial"
: )

: I've promised myself to write a small webpage
: on this oneday... ( when I'm about 95 ! ).
