Why did Omega stop using screws to secure bracelet *PIC*

to the case?
This feature is helping Panerai sell their watches. Buyers view it as an added security.

This watch is from the 1970s and uses the screws.
With a help of a friend I was able to purchase an N.O.S. bracelet. I had hell of a time removing the screws though. It seems that Lok Tight may have been used. I heated the case with the torch but it did not break the seal. Then I left it in a hot solution in the ultrasonic for about 2 hours. This did the trick :)
