Seamaster 120 Quartz

Greetings,

I an a RN and I need a new watch. I was going to buy a Citizen for like 400 but someone is selling a basic quartz seamaster 120 for 500-600 though a person to person online classifed page.

I saw though the search function the comparason of one user of his quartz and automatic movement seamasters.

My uncle has an old seamaster ( USN Ret ) he had to buy in the 60's because the generators of the ship he was working on were magnetizing all the other watches. So I would some day like the same thing but that's out of my price range right now.

New they seem to sell for 1300. That's about as much money as I am willing to wear on my wrist.

Should I just buy a timex and wait until I can afford the mechanical version? Thanks for your help.
