Omega Seamaster Question...

Dear Fellow Omega Watch Fanatics:

I drop by my local jewelers this morning and was shown a beautiful Seamaster that I just can't quite figure out and could use some insight. First of all it's a 18K-Stainless Steel Seamaster Chronometer with a white face. The watch is in Mint to near-mint condition. Other than the simple operating papers and the Box, there's no way to tell the age of the watch. The owner of the store took the watch in trade 6 months ago and he wore it himself a few times. (he loves Omega watches). Anyway, upon further inspection of the watch I saw that there were numbers on the band that said: 1501/823 also under the watch were the band meets the head it says: DA-823

He's asking $825.00, and I had the money on me, but thought I'd ask the people who know and love these watches. He says he'd be happy to hold the watch until Monday September 18th,so what I'd like to know is this:

1) when was the watch manufacture?

2) Does that watch come with a Saffire or plastic crystal?

3) is it worth $825.00? Or better yet what is it worth?
