The place the second hand stops is pretty random.

When your watch runs down completely, you should wind it manually before wearing it. An automatic winding mechanism is designed to keep a watch wound, not wind it from completely unwound.

On your SMP, unscrew the crown counterclockwise until it pops out and then wind it about 20 revolutions. Don't worry -- you can't overwind it. If you listen closely, you will hear a slight noise/clicking after the watch is fully wound and you continue to wind the watch -- the device that keeps you from overwinding.

After completing the winding, press the crown in and retighten the crown clockwise to maintain the water resistance.
