Re: Omega Planet Ocean chronograph

: Most watch companies if they use a coating to reduce glare apply it
: to the inside of the crystal. A crystal is very hard and nearly
: scratch proof. For some stupid reason Omega decided to apply
: this coating to the outside as well as the inside of the crystal
: on the PO. If you brush the crystal against an object that would
: have no effect on a non coated crystal it will cause tiny or in
: some cases large scratch marks in the coating. As far as I know
: the PO is the only Omega watch to use the coating on the
: outside.

The PO was introduced in 2005, so it has been around a while. Search our postings and you will find some commentary. It is very popular and very favorably regarded.

As far as the PO's antireflective coating being on both sides, my comments are limited as I don't own the watch. However, it gives superior glare protection while intact and scratches on my eyeglass lenses antireflective coating are not obvious to me. It is not a complaint I have heard from others. If it bothers you, it can be removed in a few minutes. I wouldn't let that detail stop you.
