A random selection from my Omega photos

I made my wife pick a random number from my collection of Omega photos to post. So here it is.

1984 Omega Louis Brandt (the first collection), calibre 626 manual wind
Omega produced several different models of limited editions in the Louis Brandt collection, all of which used Omega in house movements. Other models included a perpetual calendar, several calendar/moonphase models and a GMT model.

Omega had ceased production of calibre 620, the ubiquitous thin and tiny manual wind used throughout the 1960s and 1970s a few years previously had discontinued production.

In this watch, they gilded a 620 movement, decorated it and exposed essentially all of it; then placed it in the center of an oversized case. For detailing they added 7 diamonds to the crown.

They added a unique buckle with a diamond as a vertical fixed tang. Here it is on a beaded-finish black stingray strap.

A numbered limited edition, this is one of 322 produced.

While not to everyone's taste, this is a perfect watch for a tux. With today's trend to larger watches, my wife also wears it on occasion.
