Re: Can someone help me identifiy this Constellation model? *LINK*

The difficulty in identifying this watch is because the gold bezel is missing.

Because it has a screw back case; lyre shaped, gold plaque lugs, I would venture that this watch is model 14393 powered by a cal 561. The domed dial, to me, is quite attractive, the crown is not specced to this watch and should be the ten-sider, and to bring it back to its former factory specifications you'll need to look around for a 14k bezel as this was the standard.

The band isnt exclusive to the watch, but looks to me like one of those excellent Tussuflex bands that were expandable and made in Italy. It was common in the late 50s/early 60s for the leather band that the watch was shipped with to be replaced by a metal band at point of sale.

Youve inherited a lovely watch - cal 561 was considered one of the best production movements ever made, out-performing its main competitor the cal 1570 Rolex. With a bit of TLC (like complete dis-assembly of the movement, cleaning and oiling) and a replacement bezel, you'll have a very nice piece.

Cheers
