Omega Watches, Now Chinese Made?

Greeting Group, from Texas,

A good friend (& knowedgeable watch collector) of mine was recently discussing the 2008 Olympics with all the Brand advertisements seen...His comment was that Lenovo computers occurred when IMB sold out to China. He also mentioned that he had heard that Omega was now owned by the Chinese. I asked if his facts were correct and could it be that perhaps only component parts of the recent Omega watches were manufactured in China and then sent to the Swiss for assembly. He stated that this had in fact been this way since the 1990's & that all recent Omegas were mostly, if not all Chinese!
Perhaps someone in the industry will be able to comment on the veracity of any or all comments above.
All feedback will be deeply appreciated,
H.G. Golightly
