: I recently bought a Omega Speedmaster Automatic Date (Chronometer).
: Caliber 1164. In lack of the right English terminology for this
: question I am wondering how many seconds a watch like this
: "slows down" per 24hoursm, what is normal/average
: discrepancy in seconds? And, is there anything I can do in terms
: of repairment or maintenance to decrease the "slow
: down"?
: Bjorn
For a chronometer rated caliber +6/-4 is the tolerance per 24 hours. If you have the Omega warranty for it, it should be corrected to tolerance by Omega if its outside the range. If its in the range, I don't suspect Omega will service it. If its in that -4 range, you might try different resting positions overnight as positions such as face down/crown up, etc may increase the speed a little an offset some of the daily losses.
