Re: Omega 565 Diver
In Response To: Omega 565 Diver ()

: Greetings,

: My first post on this site.

: What can you tell me about this watch?

: I've been told this is a rare model...looks like a Seamaster 300
: but without the Seamaster 300 marking on the dial.

: Case #166.073 movt #30384288, 24 jewels, circa 1969, I also have
: the original steel link bracelet (not pictured).

: Many thanks for your expertise!!

: Bob D

My expertise does not lie in dive watches particularly. I will reach out to a couple of members who are interested in these watches.

The coding in Omega's model numbers is consistent with the watch shown: 166.xxx indicates a non-chronograph date watch on a leather strap.

A search of the OVD does not show this model, which is not unusual, given Omega had thousands of models.

Calibre 565 is a quickset date non-chronometer movement, and 1969 would be just at the end of its use by Omega.
