seamaster crown not closing

Hi everone,
I hope I can get some help or suggestions with this. I have a 3 year old Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-axial (3 year warranty just ran out last month, but I don't think this would've been covered anyways), and suddenly I can't screw in the crown to close it! It feels like it's about to catch but it just doesn't.

Could it be that the thread is stripped!?

Does anyone have any experience with this and what do you all think the best option is for dealing with it. I'm in Toronto and I can take it into the Facility. Or should I trust an independant?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
