: I have the distinct pleasure of having seen and worn a 376.0822,
: the Maddox Speedmaster, oft called the "Grail", owned
: by the frequent poster here, jimmoose. Jim is currently on the
: WIS grand tour of the Northeastern US and Canada, having made a
: stop at my house during the sojourn. As Jim is far less likely
: to post at the moment than usual, I will take this moment to
: post some photos of that grand watch.

: It is a Speedmaster, but not a Pro

:
:

: The only time a 1045 was put in a moonwatch case

:
:

: There's 9 hands/wheels on that eminently readable dial

:
:

: Jim's is in the best condition I have ever seen, and doubly rare
: for the English day wheel, of which Jim tells me there were 200

:
:

: My Teutonic moonphase is one of 300 produced, with the manual wind
: calibre 866 moonphase in a titanium/gold case for only the
: German market

I'm around, just not close around. Great pictures Sam. I gotta also mention to the forum that I had no part in taking the pics of the Maddox Grail.
My photo skills are poor at best but getting somewhat better with proper instruction by Sam. I'm a slow study and Sam has his hands full. Thanks
Sam, I'm feeling more comfortable with the D-60. Couple of years, I may be able to take a pic worth posting.
I will say this about the 376.0822, it has a presence like no other Speedmaster. By rarity alone, its worth collecting but as a Speedmaster,
its truly special. I wear it most every day and am asked fairly often by the "watch geeks" why I would wear something that rare as a daily.
Well, if its what you want to wear........wear it. Not too good sitting in the box and getting polished and rubbed on.
On the 5100, its a great movement and is quickly becoming my favorite. Its functional and readable and a joy to operate.
Any 5100 is a keeper.
While on the subject of watches, I'm going to the National Watch and Clock Museum tomorrow on the advice of Sam. Great idea buddy.
Already scoped it out and did a drive by. I'll be there when they open.
See you on the return trip. I'll post a few pics tomorrow or Saturday.
Thanks for letting me ramble.
jim
