Re: Omega wristwatch identification

Omega Identification:

I have an Omega Oblong Winding watch I got for my 21 st birthday I am now 65......so about 44 years old.

Inside the Case on the Stainless steel base it says:

Lunette
palque or G 20 microns
Fond Acier inoxydable
...the "CB" type code in a box

underneath is a stamp 111.016

...also sort of "scratched" into the Stainless Steel is (I think) 14356 TS

On the back of the movement it has:

- within the Omega Symbol there is a "2" and below 620
then other writings are....
- seventeen jewels
-adjusted (2) positions
- and on top left in very small writing a number I think: "22324639"
I am going to have it serviced...winder does not work..............

It has a leather band but originally may have had a metal band.........

The dial appears mother of pearl and there is no numbers just gold stripes the hour 12 having two stripes.

Front just has Omega symbol and Omega underneath and at bottom swiss made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The identification of the watch is easier if the watch can be
: opened.

: The inside of the case back will have a number in the form 1111 or
: 11111. This will be the case/model number.

: The movement of the watch will have two numbers. One will be three
: digits (111) near a horseshoe shape (the Greek letter Omega).
: This is the calibre number.

: The movement will also have an 8 digit number (11111111) which will
: be the movement serial number. This number will give you a
: reasonably accurate estimate of the age of the watch.

: If you can provide these numbers, we can tell you much more.

: By appearance, the watch appears to be from the late 1950s or early
: 1960s. The bracelet may have been added later. The Geneve
: collection was (in that era) some of Omega's finer watches.
