I have the America's Cup........... *PIC*
In Response To: GMT or Americas Cup? ()

and it is my favorite watch. But unless you have a degree of sailing or America's Cup interest, I would save yourself $700 MSRP and get the GMT. The second time zone is much more usefull than the Helium Escape Valve.

Things I don't care for on the GMT:

1) I don't like the hidden slide clasp. I have a hard time getting it closed. Also, there is a small set screw used as a stop for the slide. If that set screw comes out, the watch falls off your wrist. I prefer the SeMP clasp with the 2 button clasp as on the America's Cup and on the new White Dial SeMP GMT. I wonder if this will eventually become the standard for the black and gold GMT also.

2) I don't care for the white frame around the date window. But that is minor enough to not stop me from buying the watch.

3) I don't know if I care for the day/night bezel. Sometimes I think I like it, and other times I think it just looks odd.
