I agree, you should return the watch. That little dot/dent will haunt you forever.

While you do risk the next watch having 'poorer' performance, in general SMPs are fairly consistant. The Omega modified ETA 2892/A2 used is one of the better generic movements used in watches from under $1000 USD to several thousand dollars USD.

Your current watch might not be fully broken in yet so the performance your getting now may not be the same a few months from now anyway.

I've had my SMP for 9 months. New, it was running +4 to +5 seconds a day when worn 24/7. Over time it slowed and after around 3-4 months it consistently was at around +2.5 seconds/day. When left crown right overnight its almost dead on everyday.
