As far as I know, Omega has not changed the clasp on the current style Seamster 120 since it was introduced.
I think you need your brother to explain what he means by 'new style' versus 'old style' clasp.
Possibly he is being confused by seeing the diver's clasp of the Seamaster Professional series and thinking that is a 'newer' clasp. But that clasp is not available on the Seamaster 120, only the Seamaster Professional.
