FS: Early model Enicar Sherpa 600M Super Compressor dive watch

One of the earliest models of the Enicar Sherpa Super Compressor dive watches from the late 1950s or early 1960s. The last of the radium models (no T marking with Swiss on the dial). One of the first Sherpas with the red pointer ring inside the bezel (introduced in 1958).

I believe this could be a transitional model that was only issued for a short time. It is unusual in that the dial simply says Sherpa without a model designation such as Diver or Divette. If you read the excellent Enicar Sherpa history at thespringbar.com you will find a few very similar models but not this exact watch.

Gloss black dial is absolutely original and nearly perfect, with all lume plots intact. Case back stamping, which is a bit light, notes reference 100/216BaANXS with case reference 314962 Brevet patent marking first Super Compressor introduced in 1957. Has serial number 569033 inside the cloverleaf center. Caseback also reads Stainless Steel Ultrasonic Incabloc Seapearl Swiss. Rated as a 600M watch but not marked as such. Special bayonet-closure case has kept the 17-jewel AR1124 movement absolutely pristine.

Comes on its original Enicar Beads of Rice bracelet, which will fit many wrist sizes, plus an NOS Swiss Tropic 2000 rubber dive band is included.

Crystal is perfect. Bezel is stiff but turns both ways. These Sherpas have really been on the rise lately and they hardly ever come along with their original BoR. Get a rare model you won't see other collectors wearing.
