FS: Certina Automatic Certidate Radium Dial (Ref. 28521)

I am offering up for sale this beautiful vintage Certina Automatic Certidate with radium dial from the late 1950s. The ref. no. of this model is 28521 and it can be found e.g. in the 1958 Certina catalogue (see screenshot below).

The diameter of the stainless steel case is 34mm without and 36,5mm incl. the original signed crown. The watch is in absolute top condition given the age of this gem. The case remains unpolished with sharp edges and no noteworthy scars. Unlike most examples, the dial shows hardly any discoloration caused by the radium handset, has an appealing light cream or eggshell colour and is topped with those artful hour indices and applied minute track. All radium lume remains intact.

The acrylic crystal is fine with a few superficial scratches that can be easily buffed out.

The movement runs fine within expected watch specs for such an old piece (laid down approx. +45s/d). The date advances as it should, service history is unknown to me.

The bracelet is a fixo flex from the same era but not from Certina. (The watch was delivered with a leather strap only, according to the '58 catalogue, there's no bracelet option mentioned.). The lug width of this Certiday appears to be 17,3mm.

As regards the price I am asking EUR 290,- plus shipping.

The watch is located in Austria (EU) and so am I. I do have plenty of international references from various watch enthusiasts (also known here), so please feel free to ask for them.

Just for the records: I am a private collector and, therefore, the watch comes without any personal guarantee given by me. Nevertheless, I am offering to give a full refund less fully insured shipping expenses in case the piece sold would not be as described by me (within an inspection period of three days and to buyers from within the EU only due to the complex customs procedure in case of an overseas deal).

Thanks for reading and thanks to the Chronotrader platform and its host!

Kind regards,
