old seamasters and hydrochallengers

I have posted this on other watch forums but this may be a good place to get additional answers. First, I am in the market for a good, tuff everyday watch and initially chose the SMP 300 quartz because of its everyday functionability. Then I saw a picture of the Bell-Ross hydrochallenger and was imediately drawn to its simple yet classic looks. Please compare these two watches.

Second, I remember seeing pictures of older seamaster pros with good depth ratings and classic looks similiar to the hydro. Where can I find pictures or info on Seamasters from the late 60's to the early 90's.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me to decide the perfect watch for me. I am not a collector so the one watch will have to "do it all".

Thanks again,
