Re: Event: Warning when buying Carrera 2447 / 3647 N & S 1st

Thanks a lot for the warning, Rich!

Certainly your upcoming Carrera book will give us enthusiasts more useful hints wether a Carrera can be considered as being correct or not.

Since Steve has already used the term 'chronoaddict special' in his earlier reply, I hope that you will also clarify the question of the Carrera cases with unusually 'thick' lugs, which seem to pop up now and then:;id=84327

This was about a Dato, but I have also seen 3647, 2447 and 7753 cases with those lugs. I am still curious if these cases could be regarded as correct or not. Unfortunately the thread mentioned above did not lead to any conclusions.

Regards, Robert

: Guys

: I have been asked to validate several of the above watches recently
: which have had reainted dials, re engraved cases and with
: incorrect, poorly engraved movement parts. They all seem to be
: 3647 and 2447 N and S 1st execution dials and often have 53 and
: 54 serial numbers (but not always).

: Please be careful, it's a jungle out there...
