I attatched a scan of HEUER catalog(Japanese edition) which dated Dec. 1984.
To my surprize, NO Automatic 3000 chronographs appeared in the catalog. The 3000 chronographs in this catalog are all Quartzs. They might have thought that customers wouldn't purchase "old fashioned" automatic mechanical watches. I'm not sure if this decision was made only in Japan or in worldwide.

The DD2000 modules had come out in 1983 on HEUER 2000 chronograph. Heuer changed their name to TAG HEUER in 1985. So I think "HEUER" named automatic 3000 chronographs are very short lived model(as well as automatic #2000).
