I made a brief comment on C11 about it which I stand by- 'This Monaco in particular was a piece of history-film, 'celebrity', automotive and Heuer...probably in that order'.
In my opinion it topped the lot as it was Steve McQueen's watch from the film Le Mans, not because it was auto-related nor Heuer.
Heuer and TAG (in particular) have capitalised hugely on this watch for the last 50 years based on the above themes, with good reason and more so than any other 'relationship' that may have gone before or after. As such I just can't see ANYTHING trumping this particular square blue guy. (excluding pure inflation of course!)
Interesting subject still.....
