The Autavia Reference 2446C, Mark 2, should have a case serial number, marked between the lugs. No doubt about it. It is simply incorrect to say that these watches do not have a case serial number.
Also, difficult to say exactly what's right and what's wrong, but the main time-of-day hands on this watch look a bit strange to me. You might want to compare them to the ones shown on the OnTheDash website.
Good luck, whichever way you decide to go!!

: Hi there,
: I may have an opportunity to purchase an Autavia 2446 C Mk II in
: what looks to be a great condition. Especially the bezel looks
: like brand new.
: What bothers me though is that the case looks polished and the
: seller claims there is no case (serial) number between the lugs
: as most Mark 2 would not have them. I have not found any
: confirmation for this to be true in my research and must assume,
: that the case number has simply been polished off. Can anyone
: confirm that it is normal for Mark 2 to have no serials?
: If they should all have serials and this one does not, what prices
: are currently being paid on the market for specimens without
: case number? The seller is asking $8000.
: Thanks for any feedback,
: Jonas
