Welcome to our discussion forum!
I am not familiar with the issue of whether the Autavia (or any other watch) was actually sold in this box. I had assumed that this box was for the dealer's display, rather than a box that was actually used to package a watch for delivery to a customer, but this was only a guess.
Below is a link to the page from a 1974 catalog that shows the Carrera in this same box.
In any case, the paperwork would add to the value / collectibility and these boxes do seem to be scarce.
What is the model number on the watch (between the lugs)?
Thanks for the interesting question and photograph.

: I just found out about this forum. A while ago
: I sold a Heuer Monaco to Stewart Kay, funny
: I find his name here.
: I'm wondering: I've been offered a 100%
: original Autavia from 1974 (with original
: sales receipt). The seller has a Heuer
: Helmet-box with this watch. Are these boxes
: original to the Autavia? Are these boxes
: rare, because the seller says so. I can't
: find information about the box, so I try it
: here.
: The sellers is not very cheap, but that's
: because the box and sales receipt are with
: the watch. DO you think this has more value?
: Normally I'm not very into old watches, so I
: can't determine what the benefits are of the
: original box.
: All help is appreciated, if you want to see a
: pic of the box; send me an email...
