Attention Feminists: Seeking Strength and Beau *NM* (patty cabrera)

Well Jeff, at least you mentioned my name in your posting! I thought I'd fallen from "the boys'" graces! Yes, I did post a message some weeks ago and sadly received no responses.

You haven't Patty, it's just us guys were seemingly in our "Dog Days" late summer sloth... The time during the NFL pre-season, and before the NASCAR Championship, MLB Penant chases and the start of the Pro Football season where we're a little out of sorts.

I like the "strength and beauty" idea. It's about time advertisers understand that women can do "bad ass" beautifully. And that thoughtful men are not intimidated by the idea, indeed, many love it--hence the whole, "she's the perfect guys girl," in response to enjoying girls who love sports, cars, watches and a good beer. Oh, yeah, and sex!

I've long said there is a market out there for slightly modified men's chronographs for the ladies and even girls... Yesterday's (1960's) chronographs are often considered too small for most men these days, while they'd be perfect for the Ladies:
Competitors> '69 Speedmaster c.861 Vs. Universal Genevé Compax v.72:

Like that Universal Geneve Compax from the 1960's...

Oh, and we can't take the misappropriation and misapplication of the definition of feminism seriously! The "F" word has left a bad taste in most people's mouth simply because, as with most important ideals in society--ideals that try to make this planet a better place for all, whenever removing the gap of inequality that exists means taking away the opening someone else enjoys, the selfish tendency is to demonize the entire notion--to "throw the baby with the bathwater...so to speak." (Socialism, racism, inequality of women, corporate greed, etc.)

I suspect most people don't have much issue with the goals of the feminist movement as they were in the 1960's and 1970's. I think even the most serious concerns of people who were not especially on board, for example the concept of female soldiers in combat positions, have achieved a fairly general acceptance in American society for the most part. Who'd have thunk that during the "You've come a long way, baby" advertisement's of the late 1960's or early 1970's? Certainly there are still people who are "sticks in the mud" and there likely are controversial personages within the Feminist movement with goals that are notably less than universal in their appeal. But that is likely the case with any group.

Ok, I'm off my soap box.

Guys, I think "onthedash" is wonderful--I like the community you share with each other (and have extended to me).

Sorry, P... You are part of the community! There was nothing to extend. You like these tiny little machines that facinate us. That's the main requirement (polite participation is another ). The gender thing is no more important than one's eye color or choice of beverage. Of course we all should be encouraged to spend generously here... Somehow you need to get a picture of one of your watches into the booklet of your future CD's so we can point them out to friends and associates! [I'm serious!]

And by the way, I still hold my two Heuer beauties (Carerra & Abercrombie) as the ultimate in "strengh and beauty" when it comes to watches.

and there certainly is nothing wrong with those choices! =)

And when it comes to what I do for a living....check out the optional URL I've included for another interpretation of strength and beauty.

What a beautiful setup!

Lastly (someone shut this girl up!),

No! nonsense!

if anyone knows of a bitchin', bad ass, gorgeous, chunky, gold chrono watch for sale,

Chunky Gold Chronograph watch? My word! You will have opened the floodgates girl! Ok, expect frequent links to eBay auctions!

(to be worn with heels and jeans!), let this big watch loving girl know! (Size does matter). I'm open to other brands if it's absolutely amazing.

I can think of a number of Omega's that would be dead center on that description... Maybe something like this:
or:
(now that's CHUNKY!) or:
for example! Each of those watches are on eBay currently (I have no association with any of the seller other than I might have purchased a watch from 'em in the past (I forget if I have or not)). Feel free to drop me an email if you'd like me to send you links to their listings...

All the best to each of you (...Blowing kisses.....),

And to you from each of us [courtesly tiping our caps]

Signed,

Your California girl, Patty
