since this is the "de facto" chronograph forum, i figured i'd post this question here:

my general sense is that the 2984-based chronos are not particularly favored by chrono-philes. clearly it has to do with the add-on chrono module in some fashion, as the 2892 upon which it's based is very highly regarded in horological circles. so i'm curious about the reasons for this derision. are the reasons purely aesthetic (eg., unaligned pushers and crown), philosophical (eg., a slap on chronograph module? gimme a break!), or technical- and performance-based (i.e., it performs poorly due to X and has these particular problems such a Y)?

if anyone cares to go into this, i'd appreciate it.
