: I think we would all like to hear your story.
: By your tip off, it sounds good. As to
: removal, I would be careful to preserve the
: origanality of the mounting piece.
Well here the story. I went to a garage sale to look at used dryer for in my garage. And the gentelman in his 80s who had the sale and my self got to talking about some old tools he had for sale after a little more B.S.he told me his dad and his dad before him had been steeple jacks at the turn of the century and in the 20s thru the 30s,and one of there friends or he said they might have been part owner of a 1920s period race car (Jaguar) he thought. Well apparently the only intact piece remaining is the wooden glovebox door,to which is attached the perfectly running and beautifully face, hands, glass and case of my Hervue Abercrombie&Fitch .I hope to be able submit some photos soon to be put on the main page of the link.I only wish his memory of the car or team would have made my pursuit easier. Oh yes the final price after about three of the most interesting hours talking with him was only $10.00 and also I bought off of him a very old and interesting chandelier, but that is another story.
